It was a pleasure of Alma Vallejo Cabo Makeup and Hair Professionals team providing wedding makeup and hair services for Heather and her bridal party at her Los Cabos destination wedding. I loved creating Heather’s wedding look! Her hair is long and thin, and her skin fair, but with a touch of tan from warm Los Cabos sun. The results are fabulous, her soft glamour look is enchanting, and I loved Ryan’s look when he first saw her!
Heather didn't have a trial before the wedding. We typically recommend a wedding makeup and hair trial to our brides, because it takes the stress off of your wedding day. During makeup and hair trials we’ll have enough time to try different makeups and hairstyles based on your wishes, habits, the dress, and even taking in the factors like the weather (for example sun and the wind). That way the bride can see if the look she imagined will look good, if she feels comfortable with it, and your makeup artist and hair stylist can prepare in advance for your wedding day so that everything goes smoothly and according to your schedule.
In a case when the bride doesn’t have a trial, as it happened in Heather’s case, we typically talk about the desired look over phone and email. I always encourage brides to send me their inspiration pictures for their desired wedding makeup and hair. During our conversations about her bridal look, Heather told me she wanted a romantic up-do since her hair is long, taking in account that Julys in Cabo San Lucas are frequently hot and humid.
Heather's hair is long and thin, so, having an up-do was great for the Cabo’s warm weather. She wanted to use some accessories to enhance her up-do, which looked beautiful! Another tip or suggestion for brides with updos is to use natural flowers. Depending on the preference and the style, of course, the accessories can enhance the up-do and add a beautiful touch to the bride’s look.
Heather's skin is fair, but her chest and body were tanned. Having a strapless dress, I matched her skin tone with her chest, giving her a soft, gentle touch of tan on her face as well. Her beautiful blue eyes are small, and she wanted her bridal makeup to be light and not to dark. She didn't want neutrals or browns, so I decided to use soft champagne on her eyelid, a light grey in the crease, and a touch of darker grey in the outer corner, to accent her eyes and make them shine even brighter. The eyeshadow palette that I used was Enigma from Chanel. I also used beautiful Wispies Eyelashes and long wear gel eyeliner from Bobbi Brown in steel ink colour - this colour is fantastic for blue eyes!
We used High Definition Airbrush Makeup from Kryolan for Heather and all her Bridal party.
The result was fantastic! As you can see from the photographs, Heather looks beautiful, I loved her soft glam look and that beautiful tan touch.
Much love to Heather and Ryan!
It was a true honor and pleasure to be part of their beautiful wedding day in Los Cabos!
Love,
